Meister Carbon Cleaners
Preventative engine care for SA driving

Keep your engine clean before it starts costing you

Our roads, traffic, short trips, idling, towing and daily stop-start driving all add up. Carbon build-up happens quietly inside modern petrol and diesel engines, even when the vehicle is serviced on time.

Hydrogen carbon cleaning helps your engine breathe cleaner, respond better and burn fuel more efficiently. It is not only for old, high-mileage vehicles with problems — it is a smart maintenance add-on for newer cars, latest-model engines, bakkies, SUVs, diesels and performance vehicles you want to keep smooth and reliable.

Early warning signs

Does this sound like your car?

Carbon buildup usually starts long before a warning light appears. The smart move is to clean early, not only once the vehicle is already smoking, sluggish or heavy on fuel.

Sluggish pull-away Feels heavy, lazy or delayed when pulling off, climbing hills or overtaking.
Higher fuel use You drive the same routes, but the fuel gauge seems to drop faster.
Smoke or soot Common on diesel vehicles, especially under load or hard acceleration.
Rough idle The engine feels uneven, shaky or unstable when standing still.
DPF / EGR / turbo concerns Dirty combustion can add load to emissions and boost-related systems.
No symptoms yet? That is the best time. Prevention starts before the car feels broken.
Choose your path

Choose the right solution for your vehicle.

Whether you want to prevent carbon buildup, diagnose a fault or improve performance, start with the option that matches what your vehicle needs right now.

Carbon Cleaning

Not a repair. Preventative maintenance for cleaner combustion.

Most people only book carbon cleaning when the car is already smoking, sluggish or heavy on fuel. The real value is doing it earlier, while the engine still feels good, so buildup does not get the chance to steal performance slowly.

For used and high-mileage cars, the clean can still make a clear difference because the combustion chamber gets cleaned out. But if a vehicle has mechanical faults, those faults still need proper repair.

  • Ideal for newer and latest-model vehicles as preventative care.
  • Supports smoother idle, sharper response and cleaner running.
  • Helps reduce carbon-related smoke and soot buildup over time.
  • Best paired with annual service intervals or every 10–15,000 km.
Diagnostics

Stop guessing. Scan it properly.

Modern vehicles can smoke, misfire, overfuel, lose boost or go into limp mode for many reasons. Diagnostics helps separate a carbon-related drivability issue from a mechanical, sensor, fuel, turbo, DPF or electrical problem.

This is why selected carbon clean sessions include pre- and post-diagnostics. You get cleaning plus a clearer picture of what changed and what still needs attention.

  • Engine light, EPC light, limp mode or stored faults.
  • Black smoke, rough idle, misfires and high fuel consumption.
  • MAF, MAP, boost, injector, DPF and EGR-related symptoms.
  • Pre- and post-clean comparison on selected packages.
Performance Tuning

More power, better drivability and smarter diesel efficiency.

Performance tuning should not be treated as a quick file upload. A healthy vehicle gives safer, better and more consistent results. That is why diagnostics and carbon cleaning fit naturally before tuning.

Options may include Stage 1, Stage 2, diesel eco tuning and selected DPF / EGR / AdBlue software solutions where applicable.

  • Stage 1 and Stage 2 tuning support.
  • Diesel eco tune options for drivability and efficiency.
  • Health check recommended before tuning.
  • Cleaner baseline before software changes.

New cars need prevention too

New car? That is exactly when prevention starts.

The goal is not to fix a new car. The goal is to stop it from becoming a tired one. Carbon cleaning should be treated like a maintenance add-on, not a last-minute rescue when smoke and fuel problems are already obvious.

For newer and latest-model vehicles

Modern turbo, diesel and direct-injection engines are efficient, but they are also sensitive to stop-start traffic, short trips, poor combustion and carbon buildup over time.

Regular hydrogen carbon cleaning helps keep the engine feeling smoother, sharper and more efficient for longer.

Add it to your regular service routine before symptoms start.

For used and high-mileage vehicles

Used vehicles often show the result more clearly because the combustion chamber may already have years of buildup.

A clean can help restore cleaner combustion and better drivability, but it does not replace mechanical repairs if sensors, injectors, turbo parts, DPF or engine components are faulty.

Carbon cleaning helps the combustion side. Diagnostics helps identify what still needs attention.
Fuel economy support

Fuel is too expensive to waste through dirty combustion.

When carbon buildup affects airflow and combustion quality, the engine may need to work harder to deliver the same performance. That can contribute to heavier fuel usage, lazy response and inefficient running.

Cleaner breathing
Less restriction from carbon buildup

Cleaning the combustion side helps the engine run cleaner and respond better.

Better behaviour
Smoother response, less effort

A smoother-running engine gives you a better chance of maintaining efficiency.

Maintenance mindset
Do it before fuel gets worse

Do not wait until consumption becomes a complaint. Prevention is the smarter habit.

Cleaner combustion can support better fuel economy depending on the vehicle condition, driving style and whether other faults are present.

Simple process

How a Hydrogen Carbon Clean works.

No stripping. No chemicals poured into the fuel tank. The vehicle runs during the process while hydrogen is introduced through the intake.

  1. We connect to the intake

The machine feeds hydrogen through your engine’s air intake while it idles.

    Step 1
  2. It helps loosen carbon

As the engine runs, the process helps break up carbon deposits inside the combustion area.

    Step 2
  3. Deposits exit through the exhaust

The loosened carbon leaves through the exhaust path, the same route your car uses every day.

    Step 3
No fuel additives No stripping Cleaner combustion support
Diagnostics

Diagnostics turns “I think” into “this is what we found”.

If your vehicle has limp mode, black smoke, high fuel use, misfire, rough idle, boost problems or warning lights, diagnostics helps identify the direction before money is wasted.

A carbon clean can improve the combustion side, but diagnostics helps show whether there are still faults that need mechanical or electrical attention.

Good for checking:

  • Engine lights, EPC lights and limp mode.
  • MAF, MAP, boost pressure, EGR and DPF-related faults.
  • Rough idle, misfire, overfueling and smoke complaints.
  • Pre- and post-carbon clean comparison on selected packages.
Performance Tuning

Unlock performance from a cleaner, healthier baseline.

Performance tuning can improve power, torque and drivability, but the vehicle should be checked first. Dirty combustion, boost faults, sensor issues or fuel problems can limit results and increase risk.

That is why carbon cleaning and diagnostics pair well with tuning: clean the engine, scan the vehicle, then make the right decision.

Tuning options can include:

  • Stage 1 tuning for safe power and better response.
  • Stage 2 tuning for vehicles with supporting hardware.
  • Diesel eco tuning for improved drivability and efficiency.
  • Selected DPF / EGR / AdBlue software solutions where applicable.

Quick answers

FAQ

Helpful answers before you book. Tap a question to open it.

Is carbon cleaning only for problem cars?
No. The best time to do it is before problems start. It is preventative maintenance for the combustion side of the engine, especially for newer vehicles, latest-model engines, diesels, turbos and daily drivers.
Can it help with fuel consumption?
It can support better fuel efficiency by helping the engine run cleaner. Actual fuel results depend on the vehicle condition, driving style, traffic, load and whether other faults are present.
Will it fix my fault?
Carbon cleaning is not a mechanical repair. It helps clean the combustion side. If a sensor, injector, turbo, DPF, EGR or mechanical part is faulty, that part still needs proper repair.

What happens during a Hydrogen Carbon Clean?

Simple version:

  • We feed hydrogen through the engine’s air intake while it idles.
  • The process helps loosen carbon inside the combustion area.
  • The loosened deposits leave through the exhaust path.

No fuel additives. No stripping. No chemicals poured into the tank.

What should I expect, and how long does it take?
Many drivers notice smoother idle, better response, lighter pull-away and less smoke. Typical machine time is 45–90 minutes, depending on the package, plus setup and checks.
How often should I do it?
A good rule is to align it with your annual service or every 10–15,000 km, especially if you do lots of short trips, town driving, traffic or towing.
DPF & EGR — why do they cause so many issues?

DPF traps soot to reduce smoke. When the engine runs dirty, the DPF has to work harder.

EGR helps manage emissions, but it can contribute to sticky buildup over time, especially with short-trip driving. Cleaning helps reduce the carbon load, but broken parts still need repair.

Which vehicles are eligible?
Most petrol and diesel cars, SUVs, bakkies and many vans are eligible. Direct-injection petrol engines and turbo diesels can benefit strongly. If deposits are extremely heavy or there is a mechanical fault, we will advise honestly.
Do you add chemicals to the fuel?
No. We do not pour additives into the tank. The hydrogen process works through the air intake while the engine is running.
Should I do it before a service or a remap/tune?
For best results, do the clean before a service and before a remap. You start from a cleaner baseline, then the service or tuning work can be done from a better starting point.
Is this steam cleaning?
No. It is a hydrogen-based process through the intake that supports cleaner combustion and helps move carbon out through the exhaust path.
How is the gas flow controlled?
Flow is set according to engine size and safety. The engine draws what it needs at idle — we do not force the engine beyond what is suitable.
DPF constantly regenerating or blocked — will this help?
If there is still flow, we often see good results because cleaner combustion can help reduce the soot load. A fully blocked DPF with no flow may need mechanical attention first.
Sticky turbo vanes or swirl flaps — can it help?
If the issue is carbon contamination and not broken hardware, cleaning can help. If the component is physically damaged or seized, it still needs repair.
Any risks?
The process targets carbon, not healthy metal. However, cleaning can reveal components that were already weak or failing. We do checks and discuss concerns before starting.

Carbon cleaning helps cover the part most services do not reach: the combustion side of the engine.
